• US Patent No. 8,435,502 B2; Galderma Research & Development, Biot, France, has patented a topically applicable and stable cosmetic/dermatological composition that contains at least one naphthoic acid compound useful for the treatment of keratinization disorders and an anti-irritant amount of at least one polyurethane polymer. The naphthoic acid compound is dispersed in undissolved form, and the polyurethane polymer is present in an amount sufficient to decrease the irritant effect of the naphthoic acid compound. It is formulated into a topically-applicable, physiologically-acceptable medium. The composition further comprises at least one carbomer gelling or suspending agent and has a pH of 5.5±0.5. The composition is devoid of saw palmetto berries extract.
