Nail Whitening Composition Patented by L’Oréal

• US Patent No. 8,435,500 B2; L’Oréal has been awarded a US patent for its cosmetic composition for bleaching discolored nails. The composition is comprised of at least one hydrogen peroxide generator selected from carbamide peroxide, sodium percarbonate, sodium perborate monohydrate and sodium perborate tetrahydrate. It also has at least one film-forming polymer and one cosmetically-acceptable volatile solvent. The composition is anhydrous or substantially anhydrous and contains water in an amount less than 10% by weight of the composition.

The composition does not contain a colorant.
