• FRANCE: The 2013 edition of In-Cosmetics was the best-attended event in its history, according to show organizers. More than 9,400 unique visitors from around the globe—a 20% increase on the previous record for visitor numbers—passed through the doors of the Porte De Versailles, with 60% coming from outside France to discover ingredients, formulations and new ideas.
More than 650 exhibitors packed the show floor, including more than 100 companies which had never been to an In-Cosmetics event before.
“It’s really important to meet with suppliers face-to-face and in-cosmetics is a great place to do this. It’s a regular event and I can talk to lots of suppliers. All the people I have spoken with seem pleased with the show so far,” commented L’Oréal’s raw material purchasing manager Philippe Provost.
As a tie-in with 2013’s status as the UN’s International Year of Water Co-operation, the theme of the Paris event was H20. Visitors were invited to follow a trail around the hall that highlighted the new technologies, formulations and product concepts currently employing water innovatively.
Induchem’s Neodermyl was selected as the winner of Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award. The silver prize went to Symrise with SymHair Force 1631, a natural anti-hair loss active. BiotechMarine was awarded bronze for its new anti-dandruff ingredient, Esculane.
Dr. Karl Lintner won the In-Cosmetics Lifetime Achievement Award.
The next In-Cosmetics will take place April 1-3, 2014 in Hamburg Germany.
