Topical Composition From Dr. Reddy’s

• US Patent No. 8,431,140 B2; Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Inc., Bridgewater, NJ, and Reddy’s Laboratories, Ltd., Hyderabad, India, have patented a single phase topical pharmaceutical composition. It contains a biologically active agent selected from the group consisting of terbinafine, naftifine, amorolfine, butenafine, derivatives thereof, salts thereof, or combinations thereof; a delivery vehicle comprising a non-polymeric crystallization inhibitor that is capable of delaying crystallization of the biologically active agent, and a film-former; a volatile solvent in an amount selected to create a subsaturated solution of said biologically active agent; and water. The biologically active agent attains a supersaturated state upon evaporation of the volatile solvent upon said administration.
