Colorescience CEO Mary Fisher has been honored by Ernst & Young with the 2013 San Diego Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. The annual award recognizes outstanding high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
The distinction celebrates Fisher's extraordinary track record in the "Medical Products & Services category," specifically highlighting her work at SkinMedica, where she served as CEO, and was instrumental in driving unprecedented growth and the brand's ultimate acquisition by Allergan in 2012.
"This recognition could not go to a more deserving individual," said Josie Juncal, chief commercial officer at Colorescience. "Mary is a true mentor; we learn from and are inspired by her entrepreneurial spirit daily, and we look forward to continued success with her at the helm of Colorescience."
Since joining Colorescience in April of this year, Fisher has quickly mapped out her plans for accelerated growth. Fisher bolstered the brand's executive team to include Ted Ebel as chief business officer and Steve Loomis as CFO, both former SkinMedica executives, and subsequently successfully raised $10 million in Series A Financing.
During her tenure with SkinMedica, Fisher led dynamic year-over-year growth, helping it become the "Fastest growing professional skin care company in the United States" for six consecutive years. Under Fisher's purview, SkinMedica sold its medical assets to Intendis, a division of Bayer in 2009, rolled out a first of its kind customer educational initiative along with a sales force expansion in 2010, acquired Colorescience in 2011, and was a key player in SkinMedica's acquisition by Allergan in December 2012.
