UG Boasts 27% Rise in Q1 Sales

United-Guardian, Inc. (UG) reported that earnings for the first quarter of 2013 set a new company record—a 27% rise to $1.6 million. Sales for the quarter increased 1.6% to $3.9 million.

“We are very pleased that sales of our personal care products increased 14% over last year’s first quarter, and sales of our medical and industrial products were both up as well,” explained Ken Globus, president of United-Guardian. “We are optimistic that sales of our new Lubrajel Natural line of natural water-based moisturizers will start to bring in additional revenue by the end of this year.

“We also will be devoting some of our R&D efforts towards developing new lower-cost forms of Lubrajel that will enable us to expand our sales into geographic markets not currently suitable for our higher-end Lubrajel products,” he added.

United-Guardian is a manufacturer of cosmetic ingredients, personal and health care products, pharmaceuticals, and specialty industrial products.
