Household and institutional products are used safely by millions of consumers every day to improve their lives and manage their environments efficiently and effectively. The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) and its member companies take the responsibility of product safety and performance seriously, the association said in a press statement.
The chemicals in household products, as well as the products themselves, are regulated under a risk-based regulatory system that is overseen by six federal agencies—Consumer Product Safety Commission, Dept. of Transportation, EPA, Food & Drug Administration, Federal Trade Commission and Occupation Safety & Health Administration—under a dozen regulations and federal laws currently on the books. Members’ products comply with all applicable regulations.
