There Are Multiple Benefits For Cosmetics with SymSave H

September 4, 2013

Cosmetic formulators find it very challenging to protect and stabilize formulations like high SPF sunscreens, nonionic emulsions, shampoos and shower gels. To address these needs, Symrise has developed a genuine multifunctional ingredient—SymSave H. It combines antioxidant, soothing, emulsion stabilizing and preservative boosting properties, according to the company.

SymSave H helps enhance the efficacy of a wide range of preservatives and protect a whole range of formulations. The ingredient also offers an affordable solution for chemists to formulate milder cosmetic products that are well-protected. In addition, SymSave H is a nature-identical ingredient that is FEMA/GRAS-listed. It shows excellent stability at high and low pH levels and temperatures.

“Launches of new ingredients that are designed to protect cosmetic formulations are rare. Together with its unique, versatile profile, this makes SymSave H a real innovation in this area,” said Dr. Ravi Pillai, global product director, Life Essentials, at Symrise. “With SymSave H, we want to offer our customers an ingredient that allows them to formulate products that are well protected, milder, and thus skin-friendly. We realize the demand for such products and will continue our efforts in the search for novel ingredients thus underlining our innovative strength.”
