CPSC Expands Social Media Outreach on Twitter, Flickr and Google+

When the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) first launched recall e-mails, many other electronic forms of communications didn’t exist. Now the info is available in multiple ways.
  • Twitter: Via handle @OnSafety, CPSC posts nearly all recalls and all news releases on its Twitter feed. Followers also receive important safety messages, tips and other information. URL: https://twitter.com/onsafety
  • Flickr: Photos are a priority for CPSC, as they help you identify recalled products. The photos of many recalled products can be found on www.flickr.com/photos/uscpsc
  • Google+: CPSC recently launched a page on Google+. CPSC is still experimenting with how many recalls they post on this page and are open to thoughts on what you want to see here. For now, they’re posting Recall Roundups and some of the larger recalls on Google+.
In addition to these social media platforms CPSC posts all recalls on its website at www.cpsc.gov/recalls. Recalls and Consumer Safety Reports are available on www.SaferProducts.gov, according to the commission.
