Cutex Patents Advanced Revival Polish Remover

September 27, 2013

US Patent No. 8,486,378 B1; Cutex has received a US patent for its Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover, which the company is calling the “first innovation in nail polish remover in more than 15 years.”

Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover removes polish twice as fast as other brands, according to the company. The polish remover combines acetone (92%) with natural drying oils including apricot seed, flax seed and parilla oils. These natural drying oils begin as a liquid and turn into a solid when exposed to air while the acetone evaporates. Through the drying process nails are strengthened, leaving them feeling healthy and clean after just one use, according to the company.

“Cutex has created something totally unexpected in the nail polish remover industry with its Advanced Revival Formula,” said Frank Busch, chief chemist for Cutex Labs. “Using natural oils to strengthen and condition nails while maintaining product effectiveness was the goal in creating the formula. The inspiration came from the study of paint that was used by the great art masters of the Renaissance who only had natural ingredients to create their paint. The natural oil paints of the Renaissance are flexible and strong even after 700 years. The new patented Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover uses the same oils to keep your nails flexible and strong while very quickly removing all types of nail polish.”
