According to a Mary Kay survey conducted by Wakefield Research, even in this diet-obsessed society, 59% of Americans feel they are more able to solve their weight challenges over their skin care issues (41%). In Wakefield’s survey—which included 1,000 nationally representative US adults ages 18-plus—the biggest perceived skin issue culprits fall in line with other common health indicators:
- 56% believe stress to be a contributing factor to skin problems;
- 49% cite sun exposure as a trigger for complexion issues; and
- 40% believe lack of sleep affects their skin’s condition.
