The FDA has been conducting what it calls a “comprehensive scientific and regulatory review” of the available data for triclosan, and it is expected to announce its findings soon. The EPA has reported that it is initiating its registration review process for triclosan this year, 10 years ahead of the original schedule. The EPA and the FDA are collaborating to determine if any changes in regulations for triclosan are necessary.
