In-Cosmetic Workshop On Animal Testing Ban

February 7, 2014

GERMANY: This year’s In-Cosmetics’ regulatory workshop, which is scheduled for April 1 in Hamburg, will addresses one of the hottest issues in cosmetics development: the Animal Testing Ban.

Part 1 will learn about new in-vitro, in-silico and in-chemico methods that form the elements of the new toolbox for assessing ingredient safety. During Part 2, attendees will gain insight about multi-tier alternative strategies for the example of skin sensitization. Explore the biochemical mechanisms behind the effect, how these are addressed by alternative methods and see the way information is put together like mosaic pieces for sensitization assessment.

Current speakers/panelists include Annelie Struessmann, technical director, CONUSBAT;  Nava Dayan; Reinhard Kreiling, Clariant, Germany; Ellen Pfrommer, BASF, Germany; Christian Pellevoisin, SkinEthic Academy, France; Des Caves, Bioreliance, UK; Joop de Knecht, OECD, France; and  Theresa Callaghan, CCI, Germany. A Q&A will be held after each presentation and panel discussion.
