Takasago International Opens Singapore Facility

April 1, 2014

SINGAPORE: Takasago International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. has opened its latest fully integrated flavors and fragrances plant in Singapore. The 22,000-square-meter facility houses flavors and fragrances creation capabilities, food applications, sensory, R&D and manufacturing.

This new facility marks a key milestone for the company as it becomes one of the biggest commercially operating plants in the flavors and fragrances industry in Asia (outside of Japan), according to Takasago. The latest investment comes over the S$40 million that the company had already invested since starting operations in Singapore in 1975.

According to global research expert IAL Consultants, the Asia-Pacific consumption of flavors and fragrances will grow at 6.8% annually to become the largest geographical market that is valued at $6.65 billion by 2017.
