Plant meristematic cells are master cells that give rise to other cells resulting in the formation of above-ground organs such as leaves, flowers, branches and stems.

Through optimized biotechnology, it was possible to obtain Akott’s Akosky Apium free of cosmetically undesired molecules like furocoumarines and phtalides normally present in celery plant, said the company.

In vitro tests demonstrated that Akosky Apium stimulates the synthesis of new collagens, fibronectin and prevents ECM degradation. Fibronectin crosslinks with fibrin to create an adhesive scaffolding upon which the fibroblasts can migrate. Akosky Apium also improves the migration of the fibroblasts. It also stimulates the SPARC protein expression; SPARC is a protein that provides correct assembly of newly synthesized collagen fibers. 

Akosky Apium is a potent and innovative active for the regeneration and remodeling of the tissues, with “surgery-like” activity. The environmental impact is reduced to a minimum since there is no harvesting, soil and water consumption for the plant growth and organic solvents are not used in extraction.
