This January, join Pam Busiek, president and CEO of the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD), for a panel on regulation in the cosmetic industry during the American Conference Institute’s 2nd Annual Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Forum on Cosmetics. Co-chaired by Sharon Blinkoff, of counsel, Edwards Wildman Palmer and ICMAD secretary, the forum will take place on Jan. 27-28 at the Carlton Hotel in New York.
Busiek’s panel—“The Politics and Policy of Makeup and Personal Care Products: Analyzing Congressional, Legislative and Regulatory Activity Impacting the Cosmetics Industry”—is scheduled for Jan. 27 at 9:15am.
The Compliance Forum on Cosmetics allows industry insiders to discuss the legal and regulatory policies specifically impacting cosmetic manufacturers. The annual conference is designed to help beauty industry professionals navigate the current legal environment.
In other news, ICMAD is bringing new talent into the beauty packaging design industry with its 2014-15 Young Designers Competition for participating colleges. Created to foster creativity and encourage innovation, the competition requires students to create a unique primary and secondary packaging design for a cosmetic container. The first place winner will receive a $5,000 contract assignment to design a new line of bottles by East Hill Industries, Inc. Winners will be announced this month at an exclusive dinner in Newport Beach, CA.
