LVMH: named Anish Melwani as chairman and CEO of LVMH Inc., effective Jan. 4. Melwani will be based in New York, and be responsible for the development of LVMH activities in North America.
Pauline Brown has resigned from her role as chairman for North America in order to pursue other opportunities, according to the company. She joined LVMH at the end of 2012, after a career with Bain & Company, Estée Lauder and Carlyle Private Equity.
Melwani joins LVMH from McKinsey & Company, where he co-led the global strategy and corporate finance practice and supports clients across industries. At McKinsey since 1999, he has counseled senior executives of leading global companies on issues related to corporate strategy, M&A, alliances, portfolio management and organization. He has worked in McKinsey’s Singapore and Hong Kong offices, and most recently, was based in the New York office, where he has advised leaders of public sector institutions in New York City.
