US Patent No. 9,114,084 B2; Kao Corp. has patented a skin cleansing method. The composition is comprised of components A, B, C and D. Where, A is a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate; B is a cation group-containing polymer having a cationic charge density of from 4.5 to 7 meq/g; C is cationized hydroxypropyl cellulose; and D is water.
Kao has also been awarded a patent (US Patent No. 9,161,896 B2) for a cosmetic that is comprised of an organic acid selected from the group consisting of n-octadecenyl succinic acid cholesteryl monoester, n-hexadecenyl succinic acid cholesteryl monoester, cholesterol hydrogen succinate and mixtures thereof; a base; ceramide; water; and an acid other than the first component.
The cosmetic has a pH of 6 to 11, according to the patent literature.
