BRAZIL: Lipotec has opened a new clinical testing laboratory at its Barcelona facility. The new facility will serve as a point of reference for research in the advancement of active ingredients and will focus on in vivo assays. The 116 square meters of new laboratories complete the already existing 196 square meters of in vitro facilities on site.
“Our goal is to define the best design for the studies performed on our ingredients, to gain flexibility in terms of number of formulations and/or concentrations, and to speed the testing process, accelerating the time of launching new products to the market, said Jean Claude Deneuville, general manager skin care and dermal. “For this reason, we have a constantly growing bank of diversified volunteers that cover all our needs.”
The new facility will rely on new innovative software to perform image analysis of skin characteristics including wrinkles, spots and pigmentation, as well as the measurement of moisturization and transepidermal water loss or sebum content of the skin and makeup studies, among others.
