The Clorox Company is voluntarily recalling Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter Clog Remover (previously sold as Slow Flow Fighter) produced on or before March 21, 2016. The company has identified some instances of child-resistant closures not working properly on these products. There have been no reported injuries to date, and company executives maintain that most of these products have already been used. The products have a batch/lot number of JS16081 or lower. This code is printed in a small box at the bottom of the back label. No other Liquid Plumr products are affected by this recall.
Recently, Clorox recalled Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter, Liquid Plumr Industrial Strength Urgent Clear and Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Urgent Clear clog removers. The recalled bottles are not child-resistant and children can remove the top, posing a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes. These products contain sodium hydroxide, which is required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act to be sealed with child-resistant packaging. Products were sold in stores nationwide and online from January 2012 through May 2016 for $3-5.
In other news, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall alert in cooperation with Nu Skin Enterprises for mist diffusers that the firm sold in the US, Canada and Mexico. According to the CPSC, mold can develop on the product, posing a health risk. Approximately 44,000 diffusers were sold in the US, 4,800 in Canada and 400 in Mexico, according to the recall alert.
