To mark the full roll out of Febreze One fabric and air freshener, P&G created a national television spot that takes a humorous, disruptive look at the lengths some people go to in order to avoid the overwhelming harsh sprays and scents that can be associated with air fresheners.
According to P&G, the advertisement, entitled “Run,” is targeted at those who don’t typically reach for air fresheners while shopping for home cleaning solutions either due to unfavorable past experiences with lower-quality products or because of a desire to avoid items with harsh chemicals and heavy perfumes.
“The scent and overpowering sprays of some air fresheners can be so overwhelming that not only can they send folks running for the door, but they can also make the ‘smell situation’ so much worse,” said Guerin McClure, associate brand director, North America and Global Air Care at Procter & Gamble. “With ‘Run,’ we’re light-heartedly addressing the ‘fight or flight’ response that consumers can have while highlighting how Febreze One lets users ‘spray and stay.’”
