Bell Flavors & Fragrances has undergone a series of extensive audits in 2017. According to the flavor and fragrance firm, Bell Middletown, based in New York, has been receiving more requests from several major fragrance customers to join a new initiative called AuditOne, which works as a streamlining procedure so consumer products companies are able to conduct one uniformed audit, which will help consolidate the process. Prior to this type of auditing process, companies would be required to conduct individual (and multiple) audit programs to meet the standards of each customer.
In November, an audit was completed for Bell Middletown and the facility received the certification for EFfCI. The EFfCI certification was acquired to satisfy the major customers who participate in the AuditOne program. EFfCI GMP specifies Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines specifically constructed to cosmetic ingredients, also considering significant facets of guidelines being used to certify quality and safety within the production of cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients.
“AuditOne is new for Bell Flavors and Fragrances. The concept behind this program makes a lot of sense for any manufacturing operation because of the time and cost savings for multiple audits, as opposed to one audit per year which is a primary selling point of the AuditOne approach,” noted Tim Cunningham, Bell Middletown’s vice president of manufacturing.
