As cells divide, telomeres shorten and cells age. When telomeres reach a critical length, cells stop dividing and move toward apoptosis. According to IBR, key cells, like those found in skin, hair and the immune system, are most affected by telomere shortening and aging due to their high rates of cellular division.

IBR-Dormin may preserve skin cell youth by extending their lifespan and naturally preserving telomeres, by slowing down cell proliferation and expanding time between replication. As a result, cells are kept at younger, chronological age.
