South Korea Gives OK to Procter Skincare Line

2006-10-03 | 09:39

South Korea's Food and Drug Administration stated Procter & Gamble's SK-II skincare products pose no health risk and can be sold in the country. The company in mid-September had halted China sales of SK-II, an upscale skincare line made in Japan, after a government quality control group said it found traces of metal in the products. The South Korean agency said it had found traces of chromium and neodynium in some of the products, but the quantities were too small to be harmful. Cincinnati-based Procter had said when it suspended sales in China that it believed the products were safe. The SK-II line has been on the market since 1980, and is also sold in the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore and Australia.
