Procter & Gamble to Co-Sponsor Innovation Workshop

2007-01-04 | 01:08

Procter & Gamble Co. is co-sponsoring an innovation workshop targeting mid-sized companies that are interested in learning about and sharing technologies with major corporations. The workshop, to be held on Jan. 30, is co-sponsored by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber in conjunction with the Business Growth Alliance, a Sewickley, PA.-based national network of investment banking and advisory firms. The topics will include open innovation––the sharing of technology, products, design and packaging––which is central to Procter’s Connect and Develop strategy, adopted about six years ago. With this approach, Procter ended a tradition of secretively developing its products from within and tapped into outside suppliers, entrepreneurs and even competitors. At the event, local executives and business owners will have an opportunity to discuss collaborative efforts with Procter as well as yet2.com, a founding member of the Business Growth Alliance. Other BGA member firms also will be there to explain how middle-market companies can improve their strategies by gaining direct access to large-company resources. The event will be at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. Breakfast is at 7:45 a.m. and the event runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Business owners and executives can register online at www.bgallc.net/conference013007.asp, or call (724) 933-6650.
