Ascendia To Purchase Healing Garden

Coty has agreed to sell The Healing Garden and Calgon brands for $125 million to Ascendia Brands, Inc., a Hamilton, NJ health and beauty products company formerly known as Lander Co.

According to Ascendia, the acquisition will nearly double its annual revenue to about $200 million. The deal adds two nationally advertised brands to Ascendia's portfolio, which already includes Lander, Lander Essentials, Lander Kids and Mr. Bubble.

Coty is selling the brands as part of its strategy to become a $5 billion beauty company by 2010.
