Ecolab Expands China Pest Elimination Business

Ecolab Inc. announced today it has purchased Green Harbour, a Hong Kong-based provider of pest elimination services in China and Hong Kong. The acquisition is part of Ecolab's strategy to expand its global pest elimination coverage, strengthening its circle the customer strategy. Annual sales for Green Harbour are approximately $4 million.

No further details regarding the transaction were announced.

"Pest elimination is a fundamental sanitation need for our customers around the world. By combining expertly trained service associates with the latest technology, Ecolab Pest Elimination has been able to help our customers solve their pest problems and at the same time deliver good growth for our company," said Douglas M. Baker, Jr., Ecolab's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "This acquisition increases our pest elimination service presence in the rapidly growing China market and strengthens our position in Hong Kong. We expect to make further acquisitions in both Asia and around the world as we extend our premium services to meet our global customers' needs."
