Coty Inc. appoints new leader for U.S. beauty brands

It was announced today that George Cleary has been named to lead Coty Beauty United States.

Coty Inc. announced today that George Cleary has been named to lead Coty Beauty United States. As president of Coty Beauty United States, he will manage all Coty brands available in broad distribution throughout the United States and seek new business ventures and collaborations.
 
Mr. Cleary comes to Coty with combined experience in sales and marketing, coupled with general management roles and extensive knowledge of the health and beauty industry. He will report to Hans Joachim Honigfort, president, Coty Beauty.
 
“The appointment of George Cleary as president of Coty Beauty United States brings promising opportunities to both the division and to the company,” said Mr. Honigfort in a statement to the press. “Cleary’s proven success, best-in-class training and entrepreneurial-strengths will build upon Coty’s culture of 'Faster, Further, Freer.'”
 
Prior to joining Coty, Mr. Cleary spent 15 years with Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, he headed Johnson & Johnson’s customer and business development outside the United States, primarily focusing on the emerging markets in China, Russia and Brazil.

While at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Cleary made a significant contribution to the success of the Aveeno, Clean & Clear and ROC skin care brands in the mass channel.
 
Mr. Cleary began his career in sales and trade marketing with Nestle Food Company. He graduated from Iona College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
