2007-05-31 | 02:12

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Royal Products Inc., of Brooklyn, N.Y., announced a voluntary recall of Vivre Royale Pine Cone Candles

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Royal Products Inc., of Brooklyn, N.Y., today announced a voluntary recall of the Vivre Royale Pine Cone Candles. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

The candle's exterior coating and beads can ignite and catch fire. The fire resulting from the coating and beads on the exterior of the candle could ignite nearby combustibles.

No injuries have been reported at press time. Around 2,700 units of this candle have been sold at specialty stores nationwide from October 2005 through December 2006.

This recall is identifiable as Item Number 41419, located on the packaging of the product. The warning label on the bottom of the packaging states, "Made in China. Royal Products Inc." The candle is shaped like a pine cone. The candle wax is purple inside and the coating on the outside of the candle is brown and gold. There are small clear beads all over the outside of the candle.

Consumers should immediately stop using the candles and return them to the place of purchase for an exchange or full refund.
