Donna Karan received the Hall of Fame award. She was chosen by The Fragrance Foundation’s Board of Directors for her extraordinary ingenuity and dedication, which has contributed not only to her company’s success, but to the fragrance industry as a whole. Ms. Karan took on the world of beauty in 1992 under the business and creative leadership of her late husband, artist and sculptor, Stephan Weiss. Donna Karan Beauty has introduced many popular fragrances, such as Donna Karan Gold, Cashmere Mist, Black Cashmere, Signature and Essence as well as DKNY Be Delicious and Red Delicious for Women and Men.
Another highlight of the awards show was the acknowledgement of Denis Boudard, founder and designer, QSLD Paris and QSLD New World – USA who redesigned the FiFi Award trophy. Mr. Boudard’s design, based on a drop of perfume dissolving into a crystal glass, won the final judging held last October 2006 at Luxe Pack Monaco. The new crystal FiFi trophy is produced by Pochet and the base by Jackel.
The awards presentation also included the announcement of fragrance sales specialists who completed the Certified Fragrance Sales Specialist (CFSS) Program and received the highest scores on the CFSS Certification Exam. This year, there was a four-way tie for the top scorer (96%); Therese Lisciotto, for Clarins Fragrance Group, Macy’s East Marlborough, Boston, MA; Roselee Schutt, Clarins Fragrance Group, Macy’s Great Northern, North Olmstead, OH; Marissa Tucker, Sephora, Northbridge Chicago, IL; and Joril L. Westland, Nordstrom Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL.
