2007-07-23 | 01:55

Clinique announced the first recipients of its nursing scholarships.

Clinique announced the first recipients of its nursing scholarships. Consistent with the brand's dermatological heritage, The Clinique Nursing Scholarship Program aims to further the collaboration between the medical community and Clinique.

The scholarship recipients from New York represent a diverse group of women, each pursuing a nursing career for individual reasons:
Erica Acosta from Bronx, NY; Kimberly Pierre Saint from Rockland County, NY; Karin Oloffson from High Falls, NY; Cristina Vasile from Queens, NY and Yelena McLeod of Queens, NY, who is originally  from the Ukraine.

"Clinique is proud to present these remarkable women with Clinique Nursing Scholarships and bring attention to such an important issue," said Jane Lauder, senior vice president of Clinique Global Product Marketing. "With the demand for new nurses expected to reach 1.2 million by the year 2014, Clinique felt it was necessary to take an active role in diversifying, increasing and retaining the next generation of nurses."

As a supplement to their academic experience, each of these women will also become Clinique Associate Consultants and work with clients at various Clinique counters in New York City.
