Chattem, Inc., a marketer and manufacturer of branded consumer products, reported total revenues in the third fiscal quarter ended Aug. 31, 2007 of $109 million, a 51% increase compared to total revenues of $72 million in the prior year quarter.
Total revenues in the nine months rose to $322.8 million, an increase of 37% compared to total revenues of $235.4 million in the prior year period. Revenue growth for both periods was driven by the five brands acquired from Johnson & Johnson on Jan. 2, 2007, which include personal care products such as Act, Cortizone-10 and Balmex. The financial boost was also assisted by the continued growth of the Gold Bond franchise and the strength of the Icy Hot business.
