Susan Akkad has been named senior vice president corporate marketing, diversity at Estée Lauder Companies Inc.  Ms. Akkad was most recently senior vice president, global communications and artist relations, M•A•C Cosmetics.  She will report to Marianne Diorio, senior vice president, Global Communications.

According to a statement to the press, to stay at the forefront of the changing demographic landscape, the position has been created at Estée Lauder Companies Inc. to identify, strengthen and expand areas for growth within the diverse marketplace across all brands. Ms. Akkad will work in partnership with the brands in both the marketing and communications disciplines to craft strategies and actions to increase relevancy to the diverse consumer.
