Forget who won best actress in a comedy series. The real drama at the recent Emmy Awards took place on the red carpet before the show even started.

Timeless waves as seen on Kyra Sedgwick, Terry Hatcher, and Brooke Shields;
 
Classic Chignon as see on Hayden Panettiere, Christina Applegate and Lauren Conrad; and

The low ponytail or bun worn by Julia Louis Dreyfus, Heidi Klum, and Marcia Cross.
