Croda Launches Sunscreen Enhancer

2008-10-07 | 03:24

SolPerForm 100 optimizes UV filters

SolPerForm 100, a crosspolymer derived from PVP and natural wheat protein, was introduced by Croda at the International Federation Societies of Cosmetic Chemists' Congress in Barcelona, Oct. 6-9.

The material optimizes the film-forming properties of sunscreen emulsions. According to Croda, SPF can be boosted by as much as 70%. Unlike other film-forming polymers SolPerForm 100 won't leave a sticky afterfeel, enabling formulators to create higher SPF products that don't compromise on skin feel.

According to Croda, in most cases, a use level of just 2% will boost the SPF value between 30-70%. SolPerform 100 works with both organic and inorganic UV filters and enhances UVA efficacy as well as SPF.
