2008-10-30 | 07:31

World Vegan Day is Saturday.

Lush Cosmetics' commitment to the animal-free community is no bull, or chicken or pig for that matter. The company has always marketed products that are free of animal byproducts, but on Nov. 1, World Vegan Day, all 464 Lush employees in 72 retail outles in the in the U.S.,  will go vegan. The plan also includes employees across North America.

Lush offers products that are 100% vegetarian and 76% are suitable for  vegans. Although Nov. 1 marks the first animal-free day for many employees, a recent company survey found that 20% of Lush staff don't eat meat.

Nov. 1 won't be the first time that Lush employees have gone out of their way to get their message out. Back on Aug. 27, employees at 27 U.S. stores wore nothing but aprons that read, “ASK ME WHY I’M NAKED,” in an effort to gets shoppers to purchase products free of packaging.
