L'Oréal To Cut Jobs in U.S.

Says economic slowdown forces the elimination of 500 jobs.
L’Oréal USA will eliminate 500 jobs, or 4.8% of its workforce, between now and the first half of 2009. The company said the move "will both strengthen its position in the face of the current difficult economic climate, and help it to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
The company employs about 10,500 in the U.S.
