Dermican and Cosmedia stand out for anti-aging skin care features

Global specialty chemicals supplier Cognis has recognized the commercial success of Dermican, an expert anti-aging peptide developed by Laboratoires Sérobiologiques (LS) – the active ingredients business of Cognis Care Chemicals – by giving its internal Innovation Award 2008 to the development team responsible for this product. Dermican is a pure synthetic tetrapeptide that combines cosmetic benefits with scientifically proven results, making it consistent with the current cosmeceutical trend.

By using a targeted mechanism to optimize the functionality of collagen fibers, Dermican keeps skin looking and feeling younger – a benefit which several major skin care manufacturers are already taking advantage of.

The company also celebrated its polymeric emulsifiers Cosmedia SP and Cosmedia SPL by giving its internal Innovation Award 2008 to the development team responsible for these products.

According to the company, these innovative polymers enable manufacturers to precisely control the structural, aesthetic and sensory properties of skin care products, implying a difference compared to standard polymers on the market. In particular, they enable a very light and cushionable skin feel to be achieved. Cosmedia SP and Cosmedia SPL can be incorporated into a wide variety of formulations, including creams, lotions and sprays.
