Deadline for scholarship program is March 14
Are you an NYSCC member with a son or daughter who is currently a high school senior?
Applications for the NYSCC Sal Gimelli Scholarship Program will be accepted through March 14. The scholarship was named in honor of Sal Gimelli, Professor Emeritus at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is one of the founders of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Master's program in Cosmetic Science, and has, for many years, acted as a consistent contributor to the better understanding and knowledge of the cosmetic sciences as well as to the NYSCC.
The first place winner will receive $2,500 for each of their four years of college, a total of $10,000 and the second place award has been established for $1,500/year, for a total of $ 6,000 spread over the winning students four years. Through this program, students who demonstrate their pursuit of excellence in a variety of areas, including school and community involvement, academic merit, work experience, and other leadership qualifications, are encouraged to apply for recognition and consideration in being awarded this scholarship.
Those who wish to participate in the scholarship program, contact the NYSCC Scholarship Chair at scholarship@nyscc.org. Applications will be available on the NYSCC web site, www.nyscc.org and applications will be accepted through March 14 (postmarked). Final decisions will be determined by May 15.
