Yankee Holding Corporation and The Yankee Candle Company, Inc. announced financial results for the first quarter ended April 4, 2009. Total revenue for the first quarter dropped 10.8% to $125.7 million from the prior year first quarter.

Both the retail and wholesale segments were negatively impacted by the unprecedented macroeconomic environment that continues to impact the company, and other consumer-facing companies, in 2009, said Yankee Candle in a media statement.
