Skin Hydration From the Inside Out

Latest ingredient from Laboratoires Sérobiologiques

One of the skin's primary functions is to protect our body from external aggressions such as allergens, dirt, irritants, chemicals, as well as from water loss from the inside. Stressful environmental conditions including weather (cold, wind, sun) and pollution in addition to daily-used products, such as soap and surfactants, may alter the skin¹s natural water balance and affect its protective functions.

To support the skin's natural mechanism of moisturization, Laboratoires Sérobiologiques (LS), the active ingredients business of Cognis Care Chemicals, has designed Aqu'activ to restructure and fortify dry and fragile skin by regulation of epidermal homeostasis.

The functional moisturizer Aqu'activ from LS helps to restructure the stratum corneum from the inside and to ensure an optimal condition of the epidermis, resulting in improved moisturization and elasticity, for strong and healthy skin, according to the company. It is composed of a calcium compound and a ceramidase inhibitor, and exhibits three main actions, which have been demonstrated in vitro to promote the structuring and stabilization of the stratum corneum.

Aqu'activ is preservative free and can be used for a wide range of skin care applications, including moisturization of dry and fragile mature skin.
