Frieda Leads Children’s Hospital Fundraiser

2010-02-08 | 03:27

Campaign to kick off in May with cut-a-thon.

Founded by renowned stylist and product marketer John Frieda and his longtime business partner Gail Federici, HAIRraising enlists the hairdressing industry to benefit children’s hospitals worldwide. After launching the program in London to raise funds for a state-of-the-art operating theater at the largest pediatric neurosciences centre in the U.K., HAIRraising is now bringing its efforts to the U.S. to benefit Children’s Hospital Boston. The world-class pediatric hospital treats both local children and those around the world who seek care they can’t find anywhere else.

The HAIRraising campaign will kick off with a cut-a-thon on May 2, featuring substantially discounted haircuts at some of Boston’s top salons. All proceeds from the cut-a-thon will benefit Children’s Hospital Boston, giving locals the opportunity to take advantage of cuts for a cause. During the entire month of May, participating salons will continue to raise funds by inviting clients to add a small donation to their bill. Salons that raise the most money will be eligible to win prizes donated by the biggest names in styling, including Sally Hershberger, Oribe, Harry Josh and more. Salons lending their support to Children’s Hospital Boston will also be hosting fundraising events throughout the month.
