Based on the idea of “science excellence and market empathy,” BASF unveiled its new brand, Care Creations, at In-Cosmetics. Already the world’s largest supplier of functional and active materials for the global personal care industry, BASF (Stand No. D40) is inviting its customers to experience how the personal care market can be shaped by innovations inspired by life. For example, the new “My Lifestyle” concept focuses on different lifestyles of consumers; i.e., “high-flyer” consumers want products with high-performance properties, while “urban youth” consumers seek contemporary, stylish products.

In addition to these concepts, BASF is rolling out an array of new products. Plantasil Relaxcare can be easily incorporated into lye relaxer formulations and improves both the mechanical stability and tactile properties of relaxed hair. Also for hair care, new Luvigel FIT is a liquid thickener that is tailor-made for clear and smooth hair-styling gels. According to BASF, Luvigel FIT makes it much easier for formulators to achieve high setting performance due to its synergy effects with anionic and cationic polymers.

In pigments, BASF has added new shades to its Timica Pigments portfolio. Composed of natural mineral mica and titanium dioxide, they enable formulators to create products with a lustrous shine and shimmery look, while boasting high chromacity and purity. Also new is Chione HD synthetic mica pigments for “high definition” which infuse formulations with bright clean colors and pearlescent effects, according to BASF.

Finally, for skin care, new Sqisandryl promises to strengthen skin at the critical dermal-epidermal junction. The end result is an increase in resilience, elasticity and firmness.
