First Quarter Revenue Slide at Regis

Sales down 1.7%, says hair salon giant.

Hair salon giant Regis Corporation said consolidated revenues fell 1.7% percent in the first fiscal quarter of 2012 to $569 million, compared to $578 million a year ago. First quarter total same-store sales decreased 3.1%.



According to the ocmpany’s financial information disclosed for the first quarter, North American salon product revenues dropped during the period from $100.1 million in the prior year first quarter to $98.1 million. Product sales at Regis’ hair restoration centers, however, rose from $18.79 million for the first three months ended Sept. 30, 2010 to $19.3 million in this most first recent quarter.

As of June 30, 2011, Regis owned, franchised or held ownership interests in approximately 12,700 worldwide locations, operating under concepts such as Supercuts, Sassoon Salon, Regis Salons, MasterCuts, SmartStyle, Cost Cutters, Cool Cuts 4 Kids and Hair Club for Men and Women.
