Revealing the true colors of four Givenchy powders, the base of Alcan Packaging Prisme Libre powder case is in untreated crystal PMMA. The base is divided into four cavities, giving each powder its own space.

The ABS bottom of the case is ultrasound-welded to the base while four untreated PP caps close off the cavities. These four openings are used to fill the case in a filling plant and a bottom label then masks the caps.

On the underside of the base, in the center of the cylindrical applicator housing, fine perforations forming the Givenchy brand logo let the powders gently out of their cavities to fill the puff. Until first use, a transparent label covering the perforations keeps the puff and case clean. The upper part of the case displays a transparent brand logo against a pink mirror-effect background.

The cap is comprised of several parts, which include a black molded PP screw cap, black SAN edge and a central pink SAN window bearing the Givenchy logo. A square mirror between the black and pink bi-injected part and the black screw part give the logo more depth. Finally, a transparent gloss varnish applied to the top of the cap completes the “haute couture” design.

Alcan will also close its plastic and laminate tubes plant in Lincoln Park, NJ as part of the continued optimization of its tubes manufacturing network in the Americas. Production will be transferred to a nearby facility in Washington, NJ and to the facility in Reynosa, Mexico, depending on product specifications. The closing is expected to be complete by the end of this month. Support programs have been developed to assist the 71 employees affected.
