Perfumania Marketing Reports Strong September Sales

E Com Ventures Inc., Miami, today reported retail sales for the month of September of its wholly owned subsidiary Perfumania Marketing. Sales increased by 7% to $15,576,000 from $14,552,000 a year ago. Comparable store sales increased by 9% over September 2001, and total year-to-date sales exceeded prior year by 10%.

Ilia Lekach, chairman and chief executive officer of E Com Ventures, Inc., said, “Our high quality service, upscale atmosphere and incentive programs for our sales associates have been powerful tools for driving sales in this weak economy. The sales improvements confirm the effectiveness of our operational and merchandising strategies.”

Perfumania Marketing, the nation’s largest perfumery chain, is the leading specialty discount retailer of a wide range of brand name and designer fragrances with approximately $190 million in annual sales. The company operates a chain of more than 240 retail stores nationwide.
