Hair care marketer joins forces with The Climate Project.
April 20, 2011

Continuing ongoing efforts to aid the planet and educate stylists and consumers regarding green practices in hair care, Kevin.Murphy brand stylist and founder Kevin Murphy has teamed up with Al Gore’s leadership program, The Climate Project, as a Climate Connector. Selected to attend and participate in The Climate Project’s 2011 Asia-Pacific Summit held this past January in Jakarta, Indonesia, Murphy will work with the hairdresser and stylist community to teach his peers countermeasures in the fight against climate change. “The Climate Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the harmful effects of climate change,” explains Murphy. “I will have the opportunity to be personally trained by Gore to become a Presenter for the organization, furthering my personal goals and the goals for Kevin.Murphy to educate the industry about these very important issues.” “From the onset, our goal at Kevin.Murphy has been to create exceptional products with packaging to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact,” continues Murphy. “Working with an environmental legend like Al Gore is a privilege. His advice on eco-friendly initiatives and solutions for businesses is something I’m excited to bring to the stylist community.” All Kevin.Murphy products include natural ingredients derived specifically for their unique styling, moisturizing, and cleansing agents – souring from companies that use small-scale cultivation, organic growing practices and/or wild harvesting techniques to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, Kevin.Murphy packaging and bottles are created with sustainable practices in mind and are 100% recyclable. To offset aerosol product emissions, Kevin.Murphy makes a cash donation annually to the Australian Conservation Foundation to reduce the company’s global carbon footprint.
