Clorox named two company insiders to fill the company's co-chief operating officer roles less than a week after choosing a new chief executive officer. Last week, Clorox said that Chief Executive Donald R. Knauss is stepping down, and will be succeeded by Benno Dorer, a chief operating officer who beat out another top executive, George Roeth, for the role. Dorer's promotion is effective Nov. 20;  Roeth plans to retire in January.

On Tuesday, Clorox promoted Chief Customer Officer Nick Vlahos to the role of chief operating officer of its household, lifestyle and core global functions. The position was previously held by Roeth. Vlahos's responsibilities will include Clorox's charcoal, Glad, cat litter, food, Brita and Burt's Bees businesses.

Dawn Willoughby, general manager of Clorox's cleaning division, was named chief operating officer of cleaning and international, a position previously held by Dorer. Willoughby's responsibilities will include the company's laundry, home care, international and Canada business operating units.
