Gold Bond—Chattem’s skin care brand that dates back more than 100 years—has launched its first hand sanitizer.

Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer has a patent-pending formula that kills 99.9% of common germs and bacteria in just 15 seconds without drying alcohol, according to Chattanooga, TN-based Chatthem.

“Hand sanitizers are everywhere,” said Lucas Mininger, Gold Bond marketing manager. “But the big complaint that kept showing up in our consumer research was that alcohol-based sanitizers really dry out the skin, especially in the harsh winter months.”

According to Mininger, 42% of people who used a hand sanitizer said they had to use a moisturizer right afterwards to keep their skin from drying out.

Chattem’s formula contains seven hydrating moisturizers, including a phospholipid complex to help restore the lipid barrier in the skin to lock in lasting moisture.

“Gold Bond has been working on this for years and has finally created a solution for everyday hand sanitizing health—one that both effectively sanitizes and truly moisturizes—to address both needs,” Mininger added.
