Actress Amy Smart fronts app and website promotion.

December 14, 2015
The Leaping Bunny Program – established in 1996 by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) – is rolling out its first digital PSA with well-known actress Amy Smart coinciding with the program’s updated shopper-friendly mobile app and website relaunch. With these new developments, Leaping Bunny aims to educate shoppers on the horrors of animal testing still going on while providing them with free tools that give them access to over 650 cruelty-free companies so they can make more conscious purchasing choices. “We are thrilled to announce this very exciting news,” says Leaping Bunny Program Manager Kim Paschen. “With the launch of our updated app, relaunch of our website and our partnership with Amy Smart, we want people to know it is easier than ever to shop for cosmetics, household and personal care items that are 100% cruelty-free.” “After being introduced to the organization by a friend in March 2013, I began using Leaping Bunny certified products, which opened my eyes to the alarming number of products and ingredients that are still tested on animals,” says actress and Leaping Bunny partner Amy Smart. “Since then, cruelty-free shopping has become an absolute must for me and partnering with Leaping Bunny for this digital PSA seemed a natural fit.” The PSA launches on YouTube as well as Leaping Bunny’s homepage in conjunction with release of the organization’s updated smartphone app and more user-friendly website. What was once provided via pocket guide paperback, Leaping Bunny’s Compassionate Shopping Guide – a list of over 650 Leaping Bunny certified brands – is now available on Leaping Bunny’s Cruelty-Free app. Available for both iPhone and Android, the app is free to download and features a new UPC scanner with which shoppers can scan product barcodes to determine if a brand is indeed Leaping Bunny certified.
